The construction and civil engineering industry experienced significant repercussions when the government decided at the end of June to postpone the tender for the North Sea Energy Island, as the project's financial feasibility turned out to be challenged.
Notably, the Danish Construction Association (DI Byggeri) expressed strong dissatisfaction with the decision. This was due in part to the government's proposal that the Energy Island should be constructed on a steel platform rather than, as previously expected, an artificially built island in the North Sea.
