The team

The current Mechanical Engineering Team consists of 12 skilled and experienced designers. The team creates production foundation in form of technical 3D-drawings and bill of materials. The documentation forms the production foundation for the assembly in our own production and the construction of semi-finish goods produced at our sub-suppliers.

With reference to Head of Engineering and Production Support, your main responsibility will be leading the team to keep motivation and performance high. As Manager for Mechanical Engineering, your focus is split between leadership and daily operation, why you must thrive in a combination of both. We believe that you must be able to carry out the daily tasks yourself to succeed as Manager (even though this will not be your daily job). 

Your delivery is ensuring that your team is working efficiently and delivering high-quality designs on time. Part of that responsibility includes making sure that learnings and feedback are collected, evaluated, and converted to actions. For this reason, you must be the role model who ensures a good dialogue and great collaboration with colleagues in other departments - especially the employees and management in our production departments, who are important internal customers, as they use the production foundation created in Mechanical Engineering.

Main tasks

  • Leadership - motivation, performance, employee development etc.
  • Administrative management – workhour approval, competence assurance, resource allocation, vacation plans etc.
  • Role model for cooperation and communication with other departments
  • Ensure high-quality deliveries and support to other departments – i.e., via internal design checks
  • Planning and follow-up on the daily deliveries in coordination with the Planning Department
  • Delivery of production foundation and ongoing maintenance and development of 3D-masters
  • Implement continues improvement to higher efficiency, reduce design time, and improve design quality
  • Participate in internal projects - product development and production optimization projects
  • Handle technical clarifications and claims to our sub-suppliers of welded steel frames and piping 
  • Handle non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions are initiated within the team
  • Be superuser of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics Nav 2015 and SolidWorks incl. PDM
  • Advise on construction plans, tolerance and PED standards, corrosion classes etc.

Your mindset

You will achieve success by strong mechanical understanding, high quality in mechanical design, meeting agreed deadlines, high employee satisfaction, optimization of workflows and successful cooperation with other departments.

You will have a broad range of contact points internally across all departments including the Production, Production Support, Planning & Logistics, R&D, Sales, and Electrical Engineering. Therefore, a clear and constructive communication and an eager to find the best possible compromise in any situation must be a part of your DNA.

Your skills and education

You are a skilled designer with  proven leadership experience. Your educational background is for instance Diploma or Civil Engineer, Graduate in Production Technology or Technical Designer. Any relevant experience from the refrigeration industry or OEM manufacturing companies dealing with assembly production of machinery is considered an advantage.

You need to be good at handling several tasks and requests in parallel by prioritizing. Therefore, a proactive and structured approach combined with the needed sense of urgency is important.

As our corporate language is English, you must be able to communicate effortlessly in English - both verbally and in writing. The current team consists of 12 designers from 7 different nationalities, why it is important that you consider different cultures and native languages as an advantage.
