Experts: Scottish oil ruling could have implications for Denmark

In January, a Scottish court revoked the approval for oil and gas extraction from fields. This could have an impact here at home, according to two experts

It attracted international attention when a Scottish court at the end of January declared oil and gas extraction from two oil fields illegal.

This was based on the fact that the oil company Ineos had not assessed the climate impacts of burning the extracted oil and gas—scope 3 emissions.

The decision could have implications for Denmark, according to energy law experts Bent Ole Gram Mortensen and Kenneth Løvenskjold Andreasen, both from SDU.
